ORPHAN PRODUCTIONS, INC. TO STAGE TWO SENSATIONAL SUMMER YOUTH SHOWS!

Please mark your calendars and plan on joining OPI for both of their summer youth productions!  Read on for details……

“Come with me

and you’ll see

a land of

 pure imagination!”

Orphan Productions, Inc. invites the young and young-at-heart to join five lucky

“Golden Ticket” winners as they take a magical and mystical tour of a very special chocolate factory in Willy Wonka Junior.  Three performances are set to run

July 17th, 18th and 20th on the stage of the Maumee Indoor Theater.

Forty talented children, ages 8-15, will bring Roald Dahl’s classic story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to life.  Plan to enjoy classic songs like The Golden Age of Chocolate, The Candy Man, Ooompa Loompa, and Pure Imagination.

With a score written by Leslie Briscusse and Anthony Newley, this show is sure to please every audience member as the story transports them to a funny, fascinating and fabulous world where nothing is really as it seems.  Plan to sail down the Chocolate River, visit The Inventing Room, fly in The Fizzy Lifting Room, and cheer for hero Charlie Bucket as he and Grandpa Joe make their way through the somewhat wacky but always wonderful world of Willy Wonka!  Important life lessons will also be learned from favorite characters Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Mike Teavee, and Veruca Salt.

This musical is based on the classic novel by Frances Hogsdon Burnett, and features a Tony Award-winning book and score by Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon.

Set in 1906, it tells the moving story of a lonely young orphan named Mary Lennox who is sent to live in England with her widowed uncle after her parents die of cholera in India.  Once at Misselthwaite Manor in Yorkshire, she finds the house haunted by ghosts from her past who are full of sorrow and secrets.  There she also discovers a neglected garden and her sick cousin, Colin Craven.  Eventually, both children meet friends on the estate who are able to teach them how to restore themselves and the garden to health and happiness with care, love, and hope.

THE SECRET GARDEN features lyrical songs with a Celtic flavor including It’s A Maze, Winter On The Wing and Wick, as well as beautiful ballads like Lily’s Eyes, Hold On, The Girl I Mean To Be, and Come To My Garden.
