Who We Are ... Waterville Playshop is a community theater group founded in 1951 by Waterville residents interested in enhancing theater in our community and providing a creative outlet for the artistic and musical talents of its members and anyone else in the community. We are the second oldest amateur theater group in the Toledo area and ours has been a long and rich history.
There are no professionals in our group. We are composed of people from all walks of life -- perhaps your neighbor, a member of your church, a club associate or fellow worker. Producing a play from start to finish involves the organization and hard work of many people working for a common goal. But, you get to make new friends, and it's fun too! Waterville Playshop is a versatile group. We produce at least two shows per season in a theater setting at the Roy Williamson Center for the Performing Arts at Anthony Wayne High School and one or more plays in a smaller venue. Our members can be found in the cast of many of the other amateur theater groups in the area. And if you have young ones, we offer a summer theater workshop to introduce them to the joys of theater. If you would like to stay up-to-date on Playshop's events by receiving our award-winning bi-monthly newsletter, special mailings for auditions, shows, workshops, etc., and receive invitations to board meetings and social events, or if you would like to help out on a production, get involved and experience community theater at its finest by becoming a member of Waterville Playshop. Simply complete the Membership Form and send it in! If you would like further information, please send us an e-mail. |
